Anyone who's followed even recent history of this millennia knows that the United States are in the business of 'war', often taking on the role of 'world police' to protect its interests. It's no secret that civilians have often been caught up in these conflicts 'accidentally'. Particularly if the US has been taken to task over these deaths.
Which one could then make the case that Russia is deliberately targeting civilians, as opposed to 'accidentally' targeting them.
That aside, I've seen a few ridiculous responses to America's hypocrisy with random comments along the lines of:
The U.S.A. are hypocrites. I support Russia!
Oh really? You support deliberate targeting of civilians? I presume you'll be happily sitting on your front lawn, in deck chairs, watching your house burn down, if you were lucky enough not to be in it, should war come to your town.
Regardless of whether you believe in Ukraine's independence, or Russia's claim that Ukraine was becoming a threat to their own national security, the one thing no country should be doing is deliberately targeting civilians in a war... and one hopes civilians shouldn't 'accidentally' be getting in the crossfire either.
Ideally, no country should need to even start a war in this day and age. In my opinion it's a sign of weak leadership when a country (or anyone looking to solve a problem) goes on the attack with physical aggression.
Realistically, and historically, sometimes starting a war or defending a line is the only way to stop or remove an oppressive regime. But preferably it's a last resort.
Either way, Russia could have handled things far better diplomatically with no need to destroy any of Ukraine's infrastructure... but think of all the jobs they're creating for the rebuilding process, right?
Russia is in the 'war' business too.
