Relearning Blunts, New Heelflip Tip, and Noseslide Shove-its - Two More Driveway Skateboarding Sessions
Noseslide Shove-it out (without the slide part). |
Driveway Session One
In the first driveway session video below I started out with my basic SMS tricks and then moved on to some of the recent tricks I've been attempting on my board slider. Not with a great deal of success.
I then thought about retrying Blunt Stalls, something I could do on a curb really well back in the nineties, along with a couple of technical variations like shove-it outs that aren't as hard to do as you'd think.
Unfortunately my board slider is a little wider than a standard curb making it hard to stall in the right position needed to pop out of the trick and land.
The rest of the video I focus again on landing heelflips and kickflips, including a new tip I picked up from Misty Skateboarding, who just recently started landing her heelflips. You'll also see me nearly roll my ankle on a kickflip that I landed almost primo beneath my back foot.
Driveway Session Two
In this video I do a complete run through of Skateboarding Made Simple (sigh!) just because it had been almost two weeks since I last skated due to the Winter weather.
I then I moved back to my board slider where I planned to relearn Noseslide Shove-it out, a trick that I used to do but hadn't tried in years. I was inspired to give them a go after giving some tips to a couple of other YouTube skaters that I watch on what they needed to do to land their attempts.
I figured if I'm giving out these tips I should at least try the trick to make sure my memory of how to land them is accurate. While I couldn't get mine to slide I did successfully land a Nose Stall Shove-it out several times.
After that I had another attempt at landing Blunt stalls but came up against the same problem of not being able to find my balance in the stall.
To finish the session I did try more heelflips and kickflips but at some point my camera's battery died and I didn't notice. So those attempts didn't get filmed. I can confirm I still didn't land either.
If you're interested, the T-Shirt I'm wearing in this video features my own art that you can watch me create in the video below. The art is available on various items in my Redbubble Store and also as a skateboard graphic in my etourist skateboards store.
