Pizza Monkey Lifeline Skateboard: Unboxing, Setting Up, and First Impressions - BoardPusher Square Nose Deck Review
TET with a brand new Pizza Monkey Lifeline Skateboard from BoardPusher. |
If you're new to TET.Life, this skateboard deck features my reworked #DesignALifeline Competition entry that I submitted to Revive Skateboards. While it didn't win their competition I still love the design, which makes even more sense as a Pizza Lifeline (we've all needed one of those at one time or another) than a Revive Lifeline.
Pizza Monkey Lifeline, Square Nose, BoardPusher Skateboard Deck |
The Pizza Monkey Lifeline is currently available to buy in my etouristSkateboards BoardPusher store on several different board shapes including your standard popsicle, longboards, cruisers, and the all new square nose shape.
In the video below you can watch me unbox and set up my new deck, going through the details of the various components and why I chose them. I also talk a little bit about my BoardPusher store because I really do love creating skateboard graphics and sharing them with you all on real skateboards that you can ride.
The setup footage is sped up quite a bit so you don't have to sit around for too long while I talk over it with the information you may be interested in with regards to hardware etc.
I didn't really get to skate the board on the day I set it up, so I made a separate video, a week later, with my first impressions of the new square nose shape over the standard popsicle decks I usually ride.
Overall, I do like the square nose shape, though the board, being larger than a popsicle is obviously a little heavier.
I also made it heavier with my heavier truck and larger wheel choices. While this didn't really hinder my skating I think it would benefit from lighter trucks to compensate for the extra wood in the deck and larger wheels.
Otherwise, having the larger square nose makes the board something of a modern take on 90's deck shapes before popsicle decks took off to be the standard. It's a great shape for people like me who miss having an obvious front and back to the board.
